Mizoram Politics: Latest Political news headlines from (Dated December 10th, 2013): 

The prominent politicians who lost in this elections are, the Finance Minister H. Liansailova, PHE Minister S. Hiato, MNF President Zoramthanga, ZNP President Lalduhoma, MPC President Lalhmangaiha Sailo, MNF Senior Vice President Tawnluia, two MNF Vice Presidents, R. Tlanghmingthanga and Dr. R. Lalthangliana and Vice President of ZNP, K. Liantlinga.

Congress party celebrated victory in the elections in the Congress Bhavan today. Addressing the party workers, the Party President Lal Thanhawla thanked the people for reposing confidence in the Congress party. He also described the victory as the blessing from above which was bestowed for the spirit of good will and cooperation among them despite efforts made by the opposition parties to pull down the Congress by using all possible means. Refering to rampant bribes in connection with casting of votes by postal ballot by Government servants deployed on elections duty the Chief Minister siad, the Government will have to take new step in the new Government to check such corrupt practises. The meeting was presided over by the party General Secretary C. Chawngkunga.

Similar thanks giving meeting was also held in Lunglei Congress Bhavan today. Social Welfare Minister PC Lalthanliana and the new MLAs addressed the gathering thanking them for elevating them to the high position.

MNF President Zoramthanga also described 6 seats won by the party candidate as the gift of God according to his will. Addressing party workers in Hnam Run today, the Party President said, the party may lose in the elections but Mizo Nationalism still remains among them. He also expressed gratitude to the voters who voted for the party candidates.The meeting was presided over by the party Political Affairs Committee Member F. Aithanga.

ZNP President Lalduhoma described the loss as a result of concerted attack on ZNP by all the parties by acusing it as having nexus with anti social organisations. Addressing party workers meeting in the party office today, the President also said that the party received unpresidented new wave blowing in favour of it all over the state which was more among the youths and women.
